About the Role

TechFilos Technology is seeking a driven Database & Full-Stack Engineering Intern for a 3-month hybrid internship. In this role, you will work directly on database migration projects, transferring and restructuring data between relational (PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB) databases. You will also assist in building and maintaining API layers using Node.js, Next.js, and TypeScript. This is a hands-on position ideal for someone looking to deepen their backend, data modeling, and modern web application skills.

Responsibilities

• Write SQL scripts and database queries for data extraction, transformation, and migration.
• Execute and test database migrations between PostgreSQL and MongoDB (and vice versa).
• Develop and maintain backend services and API routes using Node.js, Next.js, and TypeScript.
• Ensure data integrity, schema validation, and smooth data flow across different database architectures.
• Collaborate with the engineering team to optimize database queries and application performance.

Requirements

• Solid understanding of SQL concepts, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB.
• Proficiency in JavaScript, TypeScript, Node.js, and Next.js.
• Basic understanding of relational (SQL) vs. non-relational (NoSQL) database design.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to data accuracy.
• Availability to commit to a 3-month hybrid schedule.

Nice to Have

• Experience using ORMs/ODMs like Prisma, Mongoose, or Drizzle.
• Familiarity with database migration tools, scripts, or ETL pipelines.
• Knowledge of Git/GitHub version control workflows.
